Yesterday was President’s Day. What qualities do you think a person has to have to be the President of the United States? Please write a 7 sentence response?

Answer:

Answer:

In explanation!

Explanation:

The President is a very sought-after career. Because it's such an important job, it's important that a President has ideal qualities. Having a President who is able to stay calm during times of crisis is necessary. If the USA is having an issue, the President can't just leave the USA. It's important that they keep a level head while they help our country move forward. Another important quality that I would like to see in a leader would be, of course, natural leadership skills. Our president has to be able to guide the country in a manner where the USA wouldn't end up in an issue.

I really hope that this is good enough. It took me a minute to get down but I tried to make it efficient. Have a nice day/night/evening!

Just the name itself will make you giggle. It's a great word that conjures visions of slime and unpleasantness. It is perhaps the most annoying part of having a cold or allergies. Mucus, however, plays a very important role in defense of our bodies and our health. In fact, it's high time mucus got a lot more respect.
First, there are some amazing facts about mucus that are worthy of respect. Humans produce about a liter of mucus every day, whether they are sick or not. Bony fish and some invertebrates (snails or slugs) also have mucus cells on the outside of their body. This external mucus creates a protective coating that prevents predators' toxins from doing harm. Humans produce mucus to protect our stomachs, our lungs, and several other systems.
We tend to not like mucus because it is a considered a symptom or sign that something is wrong. We usually only see it when we are sick, and so we tend to dislike it. According to Michael M. Johns, III, MD, however, "mucus is incredibly important for our bodies." Johns, an assistant professor at Emory University, calls mucus "the oil in the engine" of our bodies. Without mucus, our engines, or bodies, would freeze up and stop working properly.
Furthermore, mucus is not just the nasty gunk you see when you are sick. It lines the tissues in your mouth, your nose, throat, and lungs. It also is crucial in protecting your digestive system. Mucus puts a protective coating over the surfaces of these tissues, keeping them moist. Most of the time we don't notice mucus is making our lives better. It does its job quietly, making everything run smoothly, keeping our inner tissues soft and flexible enough to fight off invaders.
Occasionally, though our mucus-making membranes go into overdrive. If you eat a hot pepper, your mucus membranes in your mouth and throat start producing extra mucus to protect you. If you come into contact with pollen, you may get a runny nose and start sneezing and coughing. When these things happen, your mucus systems start making more fluids to wash away the irritating particles. Mucus also has some antibodies that increase our ability to fight off bacteria and viruses.
It's hard to appreciate what is essentially slime, but we have mucus for some very good reasons. It helps to keep us healthy and lets us know when our bodies are under attack. We would be wise to respect what our bodies do to keep us safe. So the next time you find yourself reaching for a tissue, remember mucus is your friend and ally.

What's in a Name?

Mucus is a great word, not only because it gives name to an important bodily function, but also because it is one of those words that simultaneously makes you feel grossed-out and giggly. Other words for this powerfully important human-health tool include slime and phlegm. Slang words for mucus include boogers and snot. All of these words have the same giggle-power, simply from the combination of consonants and vowels. By the way, mucus is an old word; it's been around since the mid-1600s and has roots back to Latin (mucere, to be moldy or musty) and Greek (myxa, mucus). While you may assume that words like snot and boogers are relatively new slang terms, they are not. Snot dates to 1560 and comes from an Old English word, gesnot, and has the same root as the word snout. The word booger is not quite as old but has been in use since the 1890s.

Which states how "Making the Most of Mucus" convinces readers mucus is valuable?

a. It discusses people's reactions to mucus and the word itself.
b. It explains how mucus is really helpful.
c. It lists the various creatures that carry and use mucus for health.
d. It uses an example of eating a hot pepper to explain how mucus develops.

This war was fought between America and Great Britain which started in the year 1812. It was in this war, that the American expansionist attempts to the north would be halted. The war was a huge loss to the American Indians who sought to fight and keep them on their land but would loose and their land was taken (Housman, Reginald). It is ironic, however, that this war ended in a stalemate having not benefited the parties that were taking in it. America did not occupy Canada as it hoped and neither did Great Britain, the colonial master of Canada acquire America.

Before the war of 1812, the British were engaged in the Napoleonic war against Napoleon of France in the Napoleonic wars. America sought to be neutral on the issue and its involvement at the time became only through trade. The British, however, instituted blockades and trade restrictions preventing American sailors from trading with the enemies of British i.e. French. This was an unfair move and was deemed to be an attack on the sovereignty of America and international laws(Reginald, 2017). The British would also force the American ships to first dock in the British ports and get a license before trading with any European nation. They made the American sailors join the British army, a move met with a lot of criticism and protest by the Americans against the British. The British were impressing the sailors were looking for British nationals who were avoiding the army by boarding American ships.

The War of 1812 pitted the young United States in a war against Great Britain, from whom the American colonies had won their independence in 1783. Press gangs, though ostensibly targeting British subjects for naval service, also swept up 6,000 to 9,000 Americans into the crews of British ships between 1803 and 1812. Andrew Jackson defeats the Creek Indians in the battle of Horseshoe Bend (Mississippi Territory). The British plan a three-part invasion of US: Chesapeake Bay, Lake Champlain, & the mouth of Mississippi River. The British are turned back at Baltimore harbor. The British burn the White House in Washington, D.C. War of 1812, (June 18, 1812–February 17, 1815), conflict fought between the United States and Great Britain over British violations of U.S. maritime rights. It ended with the exchange of ratifications of the Treaty of Ghent. Causes of the War of 1812 Maritime Issues. Impressment was the most volatile issue between the United States and Britain. Expansionism. The division of land after the Revolution did not leave everyone satisfied.

Political. Who won War of 1812? British ,The British won, despite what Americans may think. The British kept Canada, as well as the maritime policies that Americans say were the reason for the war. Why was the war of 1812 significant to the United States? Although often treated as a minor footnote to the bloody European war between France and Britain, the War of 1812 was crucial for the United States. Second, the war allowed the United States to rewrite its boundaries with Spain and solidify control over the lower Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico.

Can someone pleaseeee write a one-paragraph summary about "The Ins and Outs of Bellybutton Lint, by Joel Guthrie"

Here it is:

Some scientists gaze into outer space to look for answers. Some scientists seek answers in the depths of the sea. When Georg Steinhauser wanted answers, he looked within himself. Well, he looked within his bellybutton to be exact. The Austrian chemist spent three years researching the contents of his navel and the navels of others. He has solved one of life's greatest mysteries. We now know exactly what bellybutton lint contains!
Steinhauser presented his findings in the online version of the journal Medical Hypotheses. The Vienna University scientist analyzed over 500 samples to determine the exact makeup of the lint. As suspected, most of the lint was made up of cotton from clothing. The fabric pieces are not alone, though. Steinhauser found that the average bellybutton also contained pieces of dead skin, sweat, dust, and fat.
Steinhauser's notes also explained how lint accumulates. Stomach hairs tend to grow in a circular pattern around the bellybutton. The hairs act like small hooks, capturing and holding contents within. Shaving stomach hair can lead to a lint-free bellybutton, but don't act too hastily. Although the contents of your navel may be a nuisance, research suggests that lint has a purpose. It is nature's way of protecting your bellybutton from germs and unwanted objects.

I REALLY NEED THIS! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! AND DON'T COPY ANYTHING

Answers

In “The Ins and Outs of Bellybutton Lint by Joel Guthrie” It talks about how our bellybuttons produce lint and what the purpose of that lint is exactly. He starts off by saying our bellybutton collects build out of cotton from our clothes, dead skin, sweat and a combination of other things. He then goes on explaining how these things get caught in our bellybutton, the hairs on our stomach help little dust flakes and sweat get trapped in our bellybutton, later on these pieces of cloth and buildup make bellybutton lint. This lint protects your bellybutton from germs and any nasty things that could get in. Overall our bellybuttons are a cool function that do their best to protect our bodies! (Hope this helped!)

Explanation:

That is what I will put ! Good luck I hope it is correct but I don’t know how to answer the second question

The memoir written by Wiesel helped us to learn that if an individual is going through a bad phase, then other persons should have helped him/her. This was actually conveyed from the use of foreshadowing.

Who was Eli Wiesel?

Eli Wiesel was an American author who got the Nobel peace prize in the year 1986.

Wiesel's memoir was about the experiences of his childhood during the time of the Holocaust. The Holocaust was the bad phase that Wiesel has gone through and he has helped the people who were suffering from it. Foreshadowing is used to give a hint about the earlier incident which is going to happen at the end of the story.

Therefore, the sense of standing in support of others who are in the bad phase is the lesson that has been learned from Wiesel's memoir.

What is meant by an endangered species?

An endangered species is one that is very likely to go extinct in the near future, either globally or in a specific political jurisdiction. Invasive species, habitat degradation, poaching, and other issues could put endangered animals in danger.

Many species' global conservation statuses are listed on the IUCN Red List, and numerous other organizations evaluate the status of species in specific regions. Many countries have laws that preserve species that depend on conservation, such as those that ban hunting, limit land development, or establish protected areas.

Many conservation initiatives, including captive breeding and habitat restoration, are aimed towards saving some endangered species. Several species have become endangered as a result of human activity.
