I DONT GET IT!!!!!!!!
Because severe storms are fairly common in the United States during the springtime and because most people are not affected too greatly by them, people often ignore important warnings and instructions during severe storms. Some people hear the tornado siren screaming and think of the other times it sounded without any serious danger. Naturally, after a few "false" alarms, they just begin ignoring the siren altogether.
Unfortunately, that is the exact wrong thing to do. Sure, most of the time the worst of the severe weather will affect someone else. This might not always be true. If tornadoes affect your area, you need to have supplies and a plan to ensure your safety. All you need to remember are a few important things.
You and your family should know the safest place in your house to be during a tornado. Unless you have a basement or a cellar, the safest place will usually be an inner room, closet, or hallway without any windows. Take some blankets, a couple gallons of water, a flashlight, a battery-operated radio for weather updates, and a first-aid kit with you. It's also handy if your cell phone is fully charged.
If you live in a trailer or a mobile home, get out and find a more secure place to ride out the storm. Do not try to outrun a tornado in your car. Seek shelter in a stable building. Oftentimes, there will be a community center or school nearby that has been appointed for just such emergencies. If you are caught outdoors, try to get inside quickly. If it is impossible to get inside, try to find a low-lying place, such as a ditch, lie face-down, and cover your head.
It may seem like a lot of trouble for a storm that seems never to hit you, but getting caught in a severe storm is one of those times that the old saying rings especially true: You are better off safe than sorry.

Which of the following sentences from the article supports the central idea that it is important to know what to do in case of a severe storm?
A.
"Sure, most of the time the worst of the severe weather will affect someone else."
B.
"Some people hear the tornado siren screaming and think of the other times it sounded without any serious danger."
C.
"If tornadoes affect your area, you need to have supplies and a plan to ensure your safety."
D.
"Naturally, after a few 'false' alarms, they just begin ignoring the siren altogether."

what is the speaker's point of view about his memories in the poem from this room"

Answers

The author presents a nostalgic and cozy point of view on his memories.

What is "This Room?"It's about change. It's about difficulties and evolution. It's about becoming a new person.

The poem is a great metaphor for change and personal evolution that does not come easily. In this poem, the speaker shows how he is changing, he is not recognizing himself and he no longer presents the comfort he had before.

In this way, the speaker sees himself in the past as something cozy and peaceful. These memories don't look like the chaotic, under-construction environment it is today.

It is important to remember that the metaphor is an implicit comparison and in the poem, the speaker compares himself to a room being renovated.

telling the story? Why or why not? Write a paragraph (75 to 100 words) explaining your answer. Be sure to include
specific details to support your answer.

Answers

Answer:

Not a movie, but the Frankenstein musical did a pretty good job of  recreating the novel. I watched the movie years ago, but I barely remember it. All I know is that they cut out Henry Clerval and made Victor old. In the novel, Victor is in his early twenties, and so many of the movie remakes make him a stereotypical "mad scientist". That's why I like the musical better than I do the movies. He's played by Hunter Foster, and even if Foster is in his 50's, he still looks and sounds young. His voice perfectly fits Victor, in a sort of "prestigious scientist who needs to take a nap" way. Very specific, but it makes sense. Then there's Henry, who doesn't get a huge part, but he's not that important in the novel either. He's actually there, though, and that's what makes the musical so good! Plus, they stayed true to the novel and made the creature learn English. In so many other adaptations, they make the creature this eight foot tall man who can't speak, while in the novel he has a great dialect and talks better than most people I know. In the musical, they stay true to this and cast someone who has a deep, baritone voice to play him. The casting choices are amazing, the way they stayed with the novel is great, and even as a standalone show the music is wonderful.

If I hadn't had the girl with me, Ma, we might have talked. I'm not as scared as I used to be about somebody taking me for colored any more just because I'm seen talking on the street to a Negro. I guess in looks I'm sort of suspect-proof, anyway. You remember what a hard time I used. to have in school trying to convince teachers I was really colored. Sometimes, even after they met you, my mother, they wouldn't believe it. They just thought I had a mulatto mammy, I guess.
