In my opinion I think that most schools did not offer difficult classes for women because they underestimated them. In the past and sadly even in some cultures currently, women were always seen as inferior to men in all aspects which is preposterous.

I think that women were not offered difficult classes for women so that it did not undermine their attachment to the home and sadly, in the past many believed that academic studies were against women’s nature hence the reason why so many men were afforded the opportunity to have a favorable education.

Women were stereotyped as being unfit for jobs that require technical or scientific knowledge. Hence the reason why in the past, you would only see men as the front runners in certain industries such as engineering.
